You must specify the genre, if it is short or feature film - Central American or International.
Any work that exceeds 60 minutes will be considered a feature film, and it is considered short film all the works that last less than 30 minutes. Works with intermediate times will be defined as shorts or feature films in dependence if they are closer to 30 minutes or 60 minutes. For example: a 45-minute work will be considered a short film and a 55-minute work as a feature film.
Each of the Central American countries will select during the celebration of National Icaro Film Festivals, between July and September, the works that will represent them in the International competition in November in Guatemala.

The failure of the juries is unappealable. The Organizing Committee of the Icaro International Film Festival does not interfere in the decision of the juries. The jury of the XXI Icaro International Film Festival will be composed of internationally recognized filmmakers.
On September 30, 2018 the list of the Official Selection of the XXI Icaro International FIlm Festival will be available at www.festivalicaro.com
For works in Spanish language they must have subtitles in English, for works in other languages they must have subtitles in Spanish and English.
The nominees and winners (with the exception of feature films) from both: Central American section and the international section, will be part of the Icaro National Film Festivals in Central America and the International Traveling Exhibition in the countries where it is held. The inscription to the Icaro Film Festival supposes the cession of the license of noncommercial exhibition for these windows.
Feature films may be part of the Icaro National Film Festivals and/or part of the Itinerant International Film Festival if they express this in writing to the Icaro Organizing Committee in Central America.
The short films in official selection in all categories, will participate in the special edition during the week of the festival in the platform www.festivalicaro.tv The Icaro, International Film Festival does not have a budget for payment or FEE for exhibition license for any movies.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to withdraw from competition during any phase of the process works that, with intention, omission or error, have provided incorrect information in the registration of their work or do not meet the technical requirements necessary for its projection and dissemination.
The Icaro International Film Festival is a project created and produced in Guatemala by Casa Comal, Art and culture with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala, with the collaboration of accredited diplomatic representations in Guatemala, organizations , companies and friends of the Festival.
